week 16

Week 16 – Thursday 21st December 2017

 Hi Everyone!

We have reached the end of Term 1! How did it go bye so quickly?

Well the answer is simple.  It’s the continued frenzy of work in school with learning and teaching to the fore and the magic of getting to know all our pupils really well via extra-curricular activities, meeting them on the corridor for a chat, having a laugh with them and being there for them when they need to talk to you.

It’s been a mad rush this week to get the Exam reports completed but in reality, only Year 12 will be posted to parents before Christmas.

There were Reward Trips as well to Dundonald Ice Bowl for Year 11, Crumlin Road Gaol for Year 9, and Year 12 French class visited the Continental Market in Belfast  - all very worthwhile experiences.  I must congratulate 8 MST who presented a terrific BBC Live News Feed Assembly on Monday morning on Bullying; they were reporting from Moortown, Stormont, Ardboe, Brussels and Cookstown – very innovative – and well done kids!

Last night the Parish held a Celebration of Carols in Holy Trinity Church, by candlelight.  It was a lovely occasion and I must congratulate both Choirs – Holy Trinity PS and Holy Trinity College on their repertoire of beautiful singing.  Our Choir of course, was under the direction of Miss Mc Curry, so a huge thanks to Miss Mc Curry, and to  Mr Mc Gartland who provided the accompaniment. A lovely evening to reinforce the message of Christmas.

And so, we have reached the end of a long, hard working and demanding term and I know pupils and staff will be delighted to receive their holidays.  School re-opens again for pupils on Thursday 4th January 2018.

On behalf of everyone in the College, I wish all our pupils, parents, guardians and readers, a happy and holy Christmas and Peaceful New Year.

See you next year
