Week 19

Week 19 – Friday 19th January 2018

Due to the very poor weather - snow, ice, hazardous road conditions – we are so glad to reach the end of this week!

Health and Safety is always a priority for both pupils and staff during adverse weather.

But apart from the weather, and continuing with learning and teaching in and out of the classroom, we had a very busy week.

We welcomed 380 x Primary 7 pupils to the College on Monday and Tuesday to experience a range of subjects and get a feel for the College.  Thankfully the weather didn’t impact at all and everyone had a great time.  The pupils were a real credit both to their families and their schools and they showed a great interest in everything that was going on. Thanks to our Year 13 students who were tour guides each day, the subject teachers and their young pupil assistants, the canteen staff, Mrs Montgomery who always looks after our visiting guests very well and of course Mr O’ Boyle who planned and organised both days so efficiently. It was a real TEAM effort and school went on as normal for other Year groups.

These visits were in preparation for Open Evening, which occurred last night.  We welcomed a very large gathering of prospective pupils and parents and we thank you for taking the time to visit the College and see what we have on offer.  Every Department was showcased in the best possible light and I must thank all the pupils and staff who carried out their duties in a most informative and efficient manner.  Our pupils were great ambassadors for the College and carried out their many jobs, which included either presenting in the classroom or as tour guides to absolute detail – well done boys and girls!. And of course, well done to our Headboy, Sean Mc Clean, who spoke highly of his experiences in the College during the past 7 years.  A huge thanks to everyone for making the evening such a success.

Our DVD and Prospectus are available for viewing on the College website which has also been updated.

We hope you will make Holy Trinity College your no.1 choice for the next journey in your education.

Have a great weekend
