Hello there
Today was very busy as we welcomed Parents/Guardians of Year 12, 13 & 14 for their annual Parent Teacher Meetings. The buzz and atmosphere in the Assembly Hall and Gym were great to hear and see. There was much positive feedback from the meetings – very productive.
It was certainly playing ‘catch-up’ this week with football and other activities. U-20 Ladies had a very impressive win against Assumption Grammar yesterday, whilst the MacRory Team had their 1st Championship Game.
On the home front, congratulations to Míchaél Kirwan, Fionn Daly and Rory Dillon who played a superb role for Naomh Colum Cille Hurling Club and secured both the U16 Grade 2 Tír Eoghain Championship Final & U16 Grade 2 League. Well done lads!
Whilst Year 13 ICT students participated in the QUB IT Ambassador training yesterday, and will be genius’ at programming and teaching to Year 8, the Art Department enjoyed another Shared Education workshop based on acrylic painting techniques. Well done everyone.
A massive well done to Years 8, 9 & 10, their Form Teachers and Classroom Assistants, who completed their Sponsored Walk on Wednesday ‘Walking into the future…..’ to raise funds for the new College build. It is impossible to thank everyone individually for an event like this - so to all pupils, staff, parents/guardians, sponsors and community – a massive THANK YOU. Your support is always appreciated.
We are privileged to have a Social Worker employed in the College, and on Tuesday, we hosted the Launch of Social Worker in Schools Event. New guidance has been written re importance of employing a social worker and it is certainly a role which we advocate. We couldn’t be without our Claire!
It’s Mid-term break next week – so relax and take it easy – everyone has deserved this break. School will reopen on Monday 4 November.
Don’t forget! – the clocks go back tomorrow evening – an extra hour in bed!
I really can’t believe where this half-term has gone to!
Enjoy your break and see you in November.
